Roasted Vegetable Sandwich with Provolone & Caramelized Onion

This Recipe Uses:


Caramelized onions:

  • 1 large sweet onion cut into slices or half moons
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Sprinkle of sugar (optional)


  • In a skillet on very low heat, melt the butter into the olive oil, then add the onion.
  • Cook on low heat until onions are sweet and brown – at least 30-40 minutes.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with a small amount of sugar – around 1/4 teaspoon – once during cooking to assist with browning.
  • Layer cheese, roasted pepper, mixed greens, and caramelized onions on Promise Gluten Free Brioche Bun.
